Academics
Leeward Community College offers 79 associate degrees and certificates and is classified as an Associate’s/Public 2-year college. Leeward CC ensures student success with an average class size of 21 Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and an instructor to student ratio of 20:1. Leeward CC also offers multiple professional development courses and licensing programs from Motorcycle Safety to Computer Courses.

The Student Life Office was inaugurated in 2009 and facilitates co-curricular learning experiences. Campus involvement enables Ï㽶ÊÓƵ to gain life skills, increase their civic responsibility, and enrich their personal and professional development.

Bulletin Board Posting
Student Life manages several bulletin boards across campus (including an online board) that allow those within the campus, and the community,reach out to Leeward CC Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, faculty, and staff. Posting on these boards is allowed under the following regulations that are intended to ensure maximum opportunities for information dissemination and to minimize damage to campus facilities, littering, and posting of unauthorized material.
New Online Bulletin Board
- allows all of our Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and fac/staff community to view the resources and events on and off campus at any time/any place.
- Request to post your information on the padlet by clicking on the + button on the bottom right. Student Life will approve or disapprove within 48 hours based on our guidelines.

- Postings will be removed after 60 days unless specified by the Student Life Office.
Non-Acceptable Postings
The Student Life Office will not approve the following:
- Postings which convey inflammatory language or obscene graphics.
- Income opportunity advertisements.
- Housing advertisements which discriminate against a renter based upon ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, and age.
- Consumption or sales of drugs or alcohol.
The Student Life staff reserves the right to remove approved flyers at their discretion.
Campus Bulletin Board Posting Guidelines
There are separate guidelines for Leeward CC campus groups (registered student organizations and campus divisions and units) and off-campus affiliates and groups.
If any of the below guidelines are violated the student organization, division or unit will be given a onetime warning. The second offense will result in a one month probation period for posting.
There are bulletin boards dedicated solely to Student Life and ASUH for easy accessibility regarding updated ASUH/Student Life information and updated activities for Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.
- The ASUH bulletin board outside of the ASUH Office contains information regarding approved minutes and upcoming events.
- Information regarding IM LeeSports will be showcased in the encased bulletin board outside of AD 229.
- Bulletin Board next to AD 229 is for Student Life Updates.
Leeward CC Campus Groups Guidelines:
- All flyers must be emailed to Student Life:
- All flyers will also be considered for inclusion on the Campus Digital Signage System.
- Only one flyer can be posted on each campus bulletin board

- Flyer must be emailed to Student Life.
- Student Life staff will verify that your content is relevant to the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and the campus and will send an email approving your flyer. (STAMP IS NOT NEEDED)
- The Student Life Office only approves flyers and do not post them.
Off Campus Affiliates and Groups:
Includes flyers not related to any campus student organization, division or unit. This may include but is not limited to: community information, sale advertisements, event information, and housing advertisements.
General Guidelines and Process:
- All flyers must be TYPED and brought into the Student Life Office, AD 229 for approval
- An approval stamp must be given in the lower right hand corner of all flyers in order to post. (Suggestion: Bring in one flyer and make copies with approval stamp)
- Only one flyer can be posted on each campus bulletin board
- Flyer Size: Sales & Housing: 8.5¡± x 11¡± or smaller
- All Others: Maximum Flyer Size: 11¡¯¡¯ x 17¡¯¡¯

Sales Advertisement:
Sales of personal items between campus constituents can be both beneficial and convenient. The Student Life Office assumes no responsibility for the meeting and/or transaction between buyer and seller.
Advertisements from sellers must reveal:

- Both contact name and contact information. Buyers should assume caveat emptor (¡°Buyer Beware¡±) principles in researching the sale, meeting the seller, and transacting the sale.
Housing Advertisements:
Leeward Community College is a commuter campus, and The Student Life Office provides bulletin boards as a system for publicity between tenants and landlords. Leeward Community College neither screens nor previews any housing opportunities. Renters and landlords should use their own discretion in determining tenant suitability.
Housing ads should state, at minimum:
- Address of the property
- Landlord/rental manager¡¯s name and contact information
- Amount of rent
- Number of rooms, bathrooms, and parking
- Utilities and amenities, if applicable

Student Lounge
The Student Lounge is a comfortable area open to Ï㽶ÊÓƵ for gathering, studying, and relaxing between classes. The Lounge is equipped with comfortable furniture, access to , swap area, TV¡¯s, and a microwave.
The Lounge also hosts student events such as open stage, live entertainment, video game tournaments, and other departmental events. Please be considerate when events are in the Lounge.

- Use of the Lounge is at your own risk¡ªStaff, Leeward CC, and the University of Hawai¡®i are exempt from liability regarding lost, stolen, and damaged items and/or bodily injury.

There are mandatory student fees that Ï㽶ÊÓƵ pay to support their co-curricular learning and overall experience at Leeward.??
Student Government Fee
The Student Government Fee allows for to advocate for ALL of our student needs, regardless of the mode of instruction. This fee also supports campus events hosted by divisions and clubs and assists with some operational expenses to create student life on campus. This fee also supports your ability to receive one free Student ID Card.
Student Activities Fee?

The Board of Student Communications Fee funds the award winning student run magazine, and keeps the campus informed about upcoming events through digital signage and announcements along with the blue bulletin boards throughout the campus.?

Student ID Card
Get your Student ID Card from the Student Services Welcome Center, AD 201.
For Continuing and AA Online Cohort SPRING 2025 registered Ï㽶ÊÓƵ fill out for a validation sticker or a $10 replacement ID card to be mailed to you. For new Ï㽶ÊÓƵ please go to the Welcome Center.

What is a UH System Student ID Card?
- These ID cards have a standardized look and numbering system for all UH System Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.
- The bar code on the front is your UH System library card, good anywhere in the system.
- The number is your UH Student Number, or Banner Number, and is used for accessing your student information online and identifies you to University officials.
Why should I get a Student ID Card?
- The Leeward CC Learning Commons and requires a UH Student ID Card for entry and usage.
- The UH Library system prefers Ï㽶ÊÓƵ use this Student ID Card for free privileges.
- Student Life discounts, movie tickets, access to sporting equipment and prizes.
- UH M¨¡noa and the Leeward CC Bookstore student rates/discounts.
How do I get a Student ID Card at Leeward CC?
- New ID Cards for Ï㽶ÊÓƵ who have never owned a Leeward Student ID Card:
- You must be registered and paid for classes.
- You will need to access your UH portal for verification at the time you get your ID Card
- Bring a government issued photo ID (e.g. driver¡¯s license, state ID w/ expiration, passport, etc.) to the office.
- After you take your ID picture, your card will be printed and validated, this allows you to qualify for discounts etc.
- Leeward CC Ï㽶ÊÓƵ who have an ID Card from another UH System campus:
- You must follow the same instructions for NEW IDs
- Students who already have a Leeward ID Card but want a new one:
- You can use your old UH-LEEWARD CC ID as your photo ID.
- You must return your old LEEWARD CC ID Card.
- You must pay the $10 replacement fee (change of name, lost, stolen, faded, broken, etc)
What if I lost my Student ID Card?
- Leeward CC Ï㽶ÊÓƵ receive only one ID card no matter how long they are at the College.
- If you have lost your ID, you may obtain a replacement ID after paying a $10.00 fee.
What if I leave the UH System?
- Students withdrawing from Leeward CC are not required to turn in their current ID card.
- Students receive only one ID card at no charge while they are at Leeward CC, you will need to have your Student ID card if you return.

Registered Independent Student Organizations (RISO)
Registration for the 2025-2026 academic year is currently open
Any group of six (6) or more Ï㽶ÊÓƵ currently enrolled at Leeward CC with a common educational, civic, social, cultural or recreational interest can register as a Registered Independent Student Organization (RISO). RISOs are important to creating a robust and active student life on campus!
To register your RISO, please follow the registration process and guidelines below:
Existing/Continuing RISO
- If you were registered for 2024-2025, use this .
By re-registering your RISO, you do not need to attend any other meetings, unless specified via email by the Student Life Coordinator. - If you have a new Advisor then the Advisor will need to attend the CSA training below. Current Advisors: TBD if you need to attend another training or complete an online version. Will be updated via email.
- The Student Life Coordinator will email you your confirmation or your next steps.
Register a New Club
your new club. Once your RISO completes all the requirements then the Student Life Coordinator will email you the RISO Registration Confirmation. Registration requirements are:
- Complete the RISO Registration Form with all the required fields completed. As a reminder the new changes include:
- Submitting a constitution and by-laws
- Listing the six Ï㽶ÊÓƵ that are part of the initial registration
- Listing the RISO Advisor information
- Advisor must attend the Mandatory CSA (Clery Act) Training. If you would like to be an Advisor and have not been trained please email Lexer Chou?to RSVP for the next training.
- Mandatory RISO Orientation Meeting:
Anyone from the RISO can attend the meeting, does NOT have to be an Advisor (recommended, but not mandatory). Please email Lexer Chou for a meeting. You must attend a meeting before you can be registered.
It is through registration as an indepedent student organization that your group is recognized by Leeward Community College. This permits your group to reserve facilities, raise funds, apply for campus funding, receive services from the Student Life Office and other campus departments. Registration expires June 30 each year.

- List of the six (6) Leeward CC currently enrolled student members of the RISO, their e-mail addresses, and their telephone numbers.
- Submit a current Constitution and By-Laws
- List your financial institution.
- RISOs (any representative) must attend an annual RISO Orientation ¨C email?Lexer Chou.
- All RISOs must have an Advisor who is a Leeward CC Faculty or Staff
- All RISO Advisors must attend an annual Campus Security Authority (CSA) Training ¨C?email Lexer Chou.
RISO Advisors
RISOs must have an advisor. An advisor can be a valuable source of information and continuity for the group, and MUST be a Leeward CC staff or faculty member. Advisors must sign the .
Advisors may provide information/advice to the group; participate in orienting and training new members and officers; attend group meetings; and participate in discussions, and reserve campus facilities.
Advisors may not select members (but may participate in selection discussion); determine or direct the group¡¯s programs, goals, performances; control group¡¯s finances; vote; hold office; or represent the group to the University or community.
